I had an old thread on this, but I wanted to post more research on this quickly so I'm reposting this myself.
What is the Overshadow Glitch?
-The overshadow shadow glitch is a minor glitch discovered in Gen.V (I haven't confirmed it in Gen.IV) by myself. I discovered this glitch by accident actually. Here's how:
I was using the GTS exploit to generate an empoleon for a team I was creating, but I was rushing and forgot to put a move in the 1st and 4th slot. So I transfer it into my pokemon black game and found that a werid move WAS in my 1st slot, but I was sure it was a glitch move. Here is the move:
Name: -----
Power: --
Acc: --
Type: None
PP: --
Move category: Status
Description: It was blank.
So I decided to test the move in battle, but got werid results, the ----- move did not show up in battle, however, I noticed my 3rd move, flash cannon, was gone. This caught my eye. So I went to the pokemon section in the battle, clicked on empoleon, and flash cannon was there. I was curious. So I went back to battle, and flash cannon still wasn't there. So I K.O'd the wild Tropius, and then went back to the empoleon menu. So I switched flash cannon and hydro cannon's positions. The moveset now was:
-----
Flash Cannon
Hydro Cannon
----- (This is how a move looks when it is blank)
I tried battling again, and noticed Hydro Cannon was now gone. Now I was on to something.
After the battle, I went to the move deleter, and oddly, ----- could be deleted, here's what the move deleter said:
Hm, the move ----- should be deleted?
It worked perfectly!
Your pokemon completely forgot the move ----- !
That kind of got my hopes up for finding something interesting. So I tried finding more ways to try to make this move appear in a variety of situations.
This next test was requested by Treeckovoid. What would happened if a PP up was used on -----? That was an interesting question, so I decided to check, but unfortunately, only Hydro and Flash cannons appeared. But I thought of a new idea using the PP up (haven't tested yet but will soon! Results will be posted ASAP)
My research is far from finished, I still have a lot to test, so more info coming soon! If you have an idea for a test, please tell me! If you want the same empoleon I used for the testing, I can get you that as well.
