I'm a newcomer and recently viewed some information about the tweaking glitch. I tried it and found a new alternative to reach Newmoon Island, which leads to Darkrai. It's actually fast and easy. As soon as you enter Pokétch Co. from behind of the front door following the glitch, reset your step counter and go: 1 step south 5 steps east 5 steps north 124 steps east 260 steps south Then save the game and reboot. After loading the file, there will be an incorrectly loaded Newmoon Island with broken tiles and music of Mystery Zone. Walk a step in any direction to correct the BGM, refresh the graphics with any of the menu options, and go for Darkrai.
I tested this in my Japanese Pearl, and it worked, that I once believed that it also works in other versions. But ownagemuch pointed that there's a patch in them, in which menu is disabled in Mystery Zone. So this one is busted.

Ah, so you found the coords for NMI without using FS? Well done! I can't wait for someone to video/verify this.

Your coords are an MZ. How did you save?

Your coords are an MZ. How did you save? Just by choosing "SAVE" option in the menu. You may test it by creating a save file free for risking, or wait for me to upload the video if you're not willing to do so.

You can't open the menu in an MZ area, and you can't save with EK (at least, not at the coordinates that you provided). Are you using an early Japanese version, by any chance?

The japanese version is the only one that allows saving in any MZ. To save in a MZ on other versions, you'd have to be in Battle Tower's Void.

Yes, that's in my Japanese Pearl. Yesterday I tested that in my English Diamond, in which the menu wouldn't pop up. Seems that Nintendo did a patch which disabled the menu as well as Explorer Kit in Mystery Zone, which edge was also hardened. Sorry for my haste.

Nice to see these kinds of things are still being looked into. <3

Battle Tower can't really be ghosted unless you find Battle Tower's "island" Void, which happens to be a separate area from Sinnoh (plus it would go off the point that is a much faster travel to Newmoon Island or Flower Paradise). But the thing is, the Battle Tower Void is extremely glitched, having random tiles everywhere (grass/water/mud/etc) and no steps are counted whatsoever. Eggs never hatch, Repels never wear off, and the Step Counter never counts up. So we'd get lost very easily, and saving in a wrong stop would get us stuck forever, as we would be unable to open the menu since we'd be in a MZ until we moved one step. And the two Battle Towers I've ever found are in "inconstant" areas and didn't show up in other savefiles.

I was just gonna do a small R-Money avatar, but damn. I know bigger is better and all, but don't ya think this is just a bit too indulgent? I mean, I just came back, I wasn't expecting for everyone to expect me to go all Sepulchritude all of a sudden. tl;dr, www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9xWAAH6j7k

I am searching for a faster way for darkari. For US version. To see my progress, go to my thread on "Freeze Area while searching for Darkari Shortcut". The first way I tried FROZE my game. I am right now, on my search for Fast darkari.
